the past 10 days

wed 12th
caught train to london. met with merch company who are looking after design & production for the sinead tour. window-shopped on portobello road. coveted t-shirt with george w bush wearing mickey mouse ears for tomorrows appointment with us embassy. met up with ace friends nat, justin & iris and drank at the social in little portland st for a bit.
thurs 13th
stood in rain outside US embassy for 45 mins. sat inside US embassy for 2 hours. working visa approved, i'm going on tour in the states in nov...and this time it's legal! caught train back to cardiff, did lot's of work at home...both on touring stuff & packing boxes.
fri 14th
packed more boxes. met with THE VINYL VENDETTAS and went to the BBC to record pilot for 6music radio show. some pure champagne moments...but few & far between. we need practice. but we're pretty pleased with ourselves. later that night we dj @ clwb ifor bach. i change a guys life by playing tracks from let it bleed. some girl tells me i'm a loser 'cause i won't pay incubus. right.
sat 15th
we move house. we hate it. it rains. our new house is fucking messy. we camp out at our old house, eat mcains smily faces & goats cheese pizza. we drink fair trade wine.
sun 16th
we keep moving house. we clean new house. we clean old house. we pick up the PA from the university ... IN THE PINES has it's 9th event this year. we fill the house. andrew hockey & gareth pearson are great. we make enough money to pay everyone more than we said we would. we collapse in exhaustion. we rock.
mon, tues, wed 17, 18 & 19
we unpack.i work on the computer. i cook oven roasted veggies & spicy lentil pie. we watch two REALLY bad movies. dominion & the stepford wives. we watch old episodes of the sopranos.
thurs 20
we drive up to the brecon beacons and have a 2 1/2 hour lunch with jo & danny (organisers of the green man festival) & their daughter tex. we eat dessert...cheesecake, lemon tart, chocolate pudding.
fri 21
there's this new bar opening in town. buffalo. we go there & drink wine with friends. then eat sushi & ramen, and go see 'broken flowers'. bill murray is a god. jarmusch makes me scream at his ambiguity, but i love him really.
sat 22
we drink lots of coffee at europa. laura & i work on our proposal for the vinyl vendettas radio show. we all sit around and play on the computer. our friend louisa is in town tour managing some noise-rock-instrumental band so we go to the horrible barfly & drink their rider.
sun 23
the household has a jumblesale upstairs at a pub. i score a hot pink & black neck-scarf & a red vinyl bag, and a black keys dvd for my friend richie. we sell lots of stuff to each other and a few other mates. next time we plan it better. we watch a doco on music & sex and eat chinese.
