me, jem, rich & tom at la-titude
oo-er, i had two more days off this week. and boy, can you tell the difference! the chips & i went off to belgium and germany on the weekend, and they played an amazing, technically challenged set at the melt festival. 10,000 people jumping up & down and singing their cotton socks off. and that wasn't even to the monkey song!
sunday, lovely cardiff boys rich & tom picked me up at stansted, and the three tour managers somehow managed to get ourselves across the country to suffolk and to latitude festival. or, la-titude as we are now calling it, plum in mouth.
it was purrfect. a lake, a spacious campsite. all the cardiff kids were there and the vendettas had the place dancing until 3:00am that morning. we set up a picnic blanket at the sunrise stage by the lake and chilled out to euros childs. same went for gruff rhys at the uncut stage. and for jarvis cocker, yep, a picnic blanket! jemma & i danced our tootsis and screamed lycric to jarvis gems like "disney time" & "cunts are still ruling the world", before punching the air in time to his cover of survivors EYE OF THE FUCKING TIGER!! genius.
arcade fire seemed to bring all the cardiff posse together on our blanket. dancing, drinking, hugs, kissing, lanterns lit up & lifting into the air, all to the soundtrack of a brilliant festival band. complete with fireworks, aww.
the rest of the night was general mayhem & hilarity. sangria to a soundtrack of the jam, sting, the la's & the beatles proceeded a party at the artist bar.

southwold pier, suffolk
sunday was the best day ever. a day at southwold beach & pier. a beach with real sand. i got so overwhelmed with the sun & the novelty of it, i went swimming in my new polkadot swimsuit. i was, of course, the only one apparently mad enough to do it.
a day of "aren't the english funny" followed. beach huts lined up along the esplanade, crazy games on the pier, windy roads and traffic jams, hidden campsites and secret weddings. we never quite made it to the cotswolds, but camped in a posh field in buckinghamshire instead.
