news from the travelling circus that is the sinead o'connor/sly & robbie tour...your intrepid assistant tour manager/merchandise chick reports in. last night: detroit, rock city! some hippies had a fight in the street after the show. the jamaicans left the bus unlocked three times. in downtown detroit. our monitor engineer went drinking with D12 & Eminem. we went to jacoby's german bar, and sang lyrics to early wham songs with andy, the most excellent runner in the world. (the things he had to buy for us...condoms, carbon paper, cling film, phone cards, guitar strings). next time i'm in detroit he's taking me to kiss landmarks. not to kiss them. but kiss ones. you know? we had a night off in rock city on wednesday...which amy and i used to drink makers mark into the wee hours...mr robbie shakespeare joining us with hie remy martin and tales of working with michael franti...whilst we all hummed along to some live bill withers. surreal.

so this morning i woke up around 7:30am, in the back carpark for the house of blues, cleveland. it's been snowing here all day and we're about about 6 inches by now. i'm kinda getting a kick out of it, as it's so quiet and pretty out on the streets ... but, damn if they aren't expecting it to snow and snow and snow...all the way up to buffalo, where we are crossing the border into canada tonight. three tour buses and a truck. of course, along that route, they are predicting 6-12 inches of snow. damn if i aint gonna make some snow angels....
i just got back from buying nappies for sineads son shane. sometimes this job is so weird. i realised i know absolutely nothing about the finer points of diapers. and my toes are wet from the snow-drifts.
